Cosmetic Tourism: Complications and Epidemiology
Project Summary:
The goal of this study is to furnish a substantial body of data by reporting the experience of a high-volume urban academic medical center. We hypothesize that an adequately powered analysis will contribute to a much-needed epidemiological understanding. A cost analysis will also be conducted to better understand the economic implications to the patient, healthcare system, and plastic surgeon who assumes care. It is our hope that this knowledge may be leveraged toward advancing patient safety and preventative education, improving patient outcomes, and decreasing cost to patients and providers.
