Research Grants
We support research projects that align with our mission to improve the safety and effectiveness of aesthetic surgery and medicine. By increasing our understanding of aesthetics, we can advance the industry.
We offer two types of research grants:
Interim Research Grants
Interim Research Grants are our most common type of research grant. We award these grants quarterly, but we accept applications all year long. You can propose a research topic and apply for a grant. No research project is too big or too small, and we are open to a wide range of aesthetic research topics. We notify applicants of our funding decision approximately one month after each deadline.
Application Deadlines: March 1, June 1, September 1, December 1
Directed Research Grants
From time to time, The Aesthetic Foundation may identify specific research topics that are highly important to the aesthetic community and require urgent attention. We will announce a general call for investigators to submit specific research proposals on these topics.
Each directed research topic will include specific application information, deadlines, and requirements. Call for applications occurs on an as-necessary basis. We created this category so we can quickly make funds available as issues arise.
If you have an idea or see a need for directed research, please submit the topic to hello@theaestheticfoundation.org. You do not need to be an Aesthetic Foundation member to submit a topic for consideration.
Examples of Past Directed Research: BIA-ALCL, BBL, and BII (now referred to as Systemic Symptoms Associated With Breast Implants - SSBI).
