The Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation is pleased to announce that Drs. James. M. Stuzin and John B. Tebbetts were awarded the 2023 Career Achievement Award. A presentation for the two recipients took place during The Aesthetic Meeting 2023's Member Business Meeting on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Miami Beach, FL.

As a double board-certified surgeon with 40 years of experience, and author of 3 books and hundreds of published articles, Dr. Stuzin is recognized as one of the foremost experts in aesthetic surgery. His commitment to education has made an impact that is felt far and wide. As Chair of the Baker Gordon Educational Symposium, one of the oldest and most prestigious educational meetings in the specialty, he has taught thousands of his colleagues. Those numbers are only matched through his volunteer efforts with The Aesthetic Society, where he meticulously crafted the organization's CME programs while serving on the Education Commission. His efforts were recognized as he elevated through Society leadership to ultimately serve as President in 2007 - 2008.

Dr. Tebbetts (1947 - 2022) was an internationally acclaimed surgeon who spent his 45-year career advancing breast augmentation for patients and surgeons. His dedication ultimately changed how surgeons approach breast surgery, which resulted in improved patient outcomes. Dr. Tebbetts' advances in augmentation and recovery are documented in more than 70 published articles and multiple textbooks he authored, including the 2-book series, "The Best Breast." A recognized authority in breast surgery, he went on to develop and create the 24 Hour Recovery® which resulted in fewer than 3% reoperation rates, less blood loss and less tissue trauma, allowing a patient to return to normal activities in 24 hours. Dr. Tebbetts also developed the High Five Measurement System® which removes guessing which implant would be best and instead uses five objective measurements from the patient.
